The Grim Reefer Free DNA Removal Kit eliminates free DNA from samples prior to qPCR analysis. This provides a quick, accurate, and affordable solution to a problem that has haunted labs using DNA-based methods. Use Grim Reefer to ensure DNA from dead organisms does not inflate quantitative results from PathoSEEK® Microbial Safety Testing Assays.
The GR Enzyme and the GR Buffer are sold together as a kit. There is enough reagent for 250 tests (0.25 gram sampling) and 125 tests (1 gram sampling). The GR Assay and GR Control are required and should be purchased separately (see below in recommended items).
The Grim Reefer Free DNA Removal Kit is compatible with the following PathoSEEK Detection Assays:
- Total Yeast and Mold Count
- Total Aerobic Bacteria Count
- Total Entero and Coliform Count
- Bile Tolerant Gram Negative Count
NOTE: Grim Reefer requires the Cy5 channel. Confirm that you are using an instrument that has the proper filters installed before running Grim Reefer.
