The PathoSEEK® Hop Latent Viroid Detection Assay v2 Kit is a reverse-transcriptase quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR or QRT-PCR) assay that screens for the presence of Hop Latent Viroid. This “kit” format packages the qPCR assay and Amplification Mix (RT-qPCR enzyme) together in quantities sufficient for 200 reactions for easier ordering.
Hop latent viroid (HLVd) is a single-stranded, circular infectious RNA that is completely dependent on its host plant’s metabolism for replication. As the name suggests, HLVd occurs worldwide in hops, but it can also infect hop’s relative, cannabis. See more information and resources about HLVd here.
PathoSEEK Detection Assays are multiplex tests based on gene amplification and detection by quantitative PCR. Each PathoSEEK Detection Assay contains primers and probes specific for the target species as well as an internal DNA control. The target organisms will be read on the following fluorophores:
- Hop Latent Viroid - FAM
- Internal DNA Control - HEX
This product is used with:
- Pure Prep or Quick Lysis DNA Lysis Reagents
- HLVd Positive Control
