The PathoSEEK® Listeria detection assay is used to detect Listeria monocytogenes, the pathogenic bacteria that causes the infection listeriosis. The assay targets the species using the FAM fluorophore. It is used in combination with the MGC SenSATIVAx extraction kits, Listeria Growth Media (see below), qPCR master kits, and the Listeria Positive Control.
Listeria cells are slow growing and can be rapidly out-grown by competitors. This is why the use of Listeria Enrichment Broth is required that the samples be incubated for 24-48 hours at 35C.
The Listeria Enrichment Broth is used for the selective enrichment of Listeria monocytogenes and should be used when running the PathoSEEK® Listeria Detection Assay. This product is NOT meant to be used as enrichment media for any other PathoSEEK® qPCR assay. We recommend media manufactured by Hardy Diagnostics and distributed by Emerald Scientific. Medicinal Genomics does not sell this product directly.
